Your little one is growing up fast – and we want to make sure their smile lasts for a lifetime! As your baby’s teeth start to grow in, you may have lots of questions about keeping their gums and teeth healthy. This is normal! Our goal at Wild Smiles is to give you confidence in taking care of your baby’s smile through at-home care and regular dental visits.

Why is A Dental Visit at Age 1 Important?

By age 1, your infant may only have one or two teeth. However, these teeth are still vulnerable to cavities. At your child’s age 1 visit, we want to ensure that these teeth are growing in normally and inform parents on how to prevent cavities at home. Kids thrive when they have a routine and stable environment. Getting your child accustomed to the dentist at an early age encourages positive experiences for future generations.

What Will Happen During A First Visit?

During your visit, our pediatric dentist will give you information on:

• Tooth decay caused by common offenders
• Infant feeding practices
• Teething
• Teeth and gum cleaning
• Pacifier habits
• Thumb sucking habits
• Educating on importance of brushing and flossing

Our doctors will also spend time answering any questions parents might have about their child’s dental routine or other oral health concerns.
