When Dr. Rachel isn’t busy telling kids her jokes, she can be found fighting the battle against cavities. She grew up right here near Pensacola in a small town called Byrneville. She acquired a biology degree at the University of West Florida, graduating with honors. She went on to graduate from the University of Florida (GO GATORS!) with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine followed by two additional years of training in pediatric dentistry. She worked as a pediatric dentist near the University of Florida for a while before finally realizing there’s no place like home!
Needless to say, Dr. Rachel is not your ordinary pediatric dentist. She believes an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure and stopping cavities before they even start is the best way to keep her patients happy and healthy! Dr. Rachel’s specialty training involved growth and development of an infant through adolescence. She believes recognizing conditions that can affect development of teeth and jaws are integral to oral health and overall health. She is a board certified pediatric dentist and stays up to date on the newest and best technologies in dentistry to keep your child safe and healthy. She can’t wait to meet you!

Dr. Lauren Simon grew up in Evanston, IL and attended DePaul University in Lincoln Park. She grew up figure skating competitively, passing her senior level moves in the field and free style tests. Prior to dental school, she was a figure skating coach, as well as was a “hockey cheerleader” for the Chicago Wolves Wolfpack (AHL). Dr. Lauren met her husband, Dr. Zachary Se Jan, at Roseman University (South Jordan, UT), where they both attended dental school. They enjoy hiking, traveling, skiing, and hanging out with Isabella (daughter).
She completed her specialty training in Ann Arbor, at the University of Michigan, and Flint, at the Mott Children’s Health Center and Hurley Hospital, earning a Master’s in Pediatric Dentistry. Her research focused on tracking eye movements of adults when viewing esthetic and non-esthetic pediatric dental restorations and occlusions.
Dr. Lauren is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Florida Dental Association, and a Board Eligible Candidate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is excited to join Drs. Bonnin and Rachel and their team!
